Approvals within Teams Manager are governed by responsible figures within your organization. Once you submit a request for any Space (including a SharePoint site), they receive a notification along with detailed information about your request.
Whether or not they choose to approve said request, or when they'll do it, is only up to them. We recommend contacting the person responsible for this process within your organization and asking them about any progress related to the approval of your space.
