If you're running a large organization, there's a high likelihood that you have lots of Templates meant for different departments. For instance, you might have a Template for Budgeting Discussions that would be useful to Upper Management and Accountants, but would simply be a distraction for Designers or Marketing Professionals.
Dynamic Groups allow you to split your enterprise into distinct Groups (Accounting, Marketing, etc.) that will be limited to viewing relevant Templates that are actually useful to them.
π This feature is accessible exclusively to enterprise customers.

βοΈ Setting Up Dynamic Groups
Navigate to Settings > Expert mode > Dynamic groups.
βClick on + Add group.
βSet a Group name, e.g., Marketing.
βSpecify a Group description.
βType in the name of a specific employee in the Add member box to add them to the Group directly (multiple employees can be added this way).
βClick on Add condition and set the criteria by which employees will be added to the Group.
βClick Create to finalize your Group.
π Utilizing Conditions
Conditions allow you to set specific criteria by which employees will be added to the Group. This way, you can avoid manually adding each member to the Group and add the entire department instead.
Once you click the + Add condition button on the Create dynamic group page, you'll be presented with three separate fields.
Attribute Selector - allows you to select an attribute based on which the users will be filtered.
βFilter Condition - determines how the attribute will be matched with the indicated value.
βValue - allows you to specify the desired company, country, department, etc.
So, as an example, we can select the "Department" Attribute, with the "Equal" Filter Condition, and specify "Marketing" as the Value, thus limiting this Group to the members of the Marketing Department.
You can also add other Rules that will expand the criteria of the first Rule, or add Conditions, which tie into the Rule above them through And/Or logic.
And logic allows you to bundle two Rules together. For instance, we can add an And Condition to our previous Rule and set the Office location attribute to equal "Frankfurt".
Employees won't be added to this Group unless both criteria are met.
This means that with our current setup, the employee must be a part of the Marketing Department and work in the Frankfurt office to be included in the Group.
Or logic allows you to specify two different criteria that will qualify the employee independently of each other.
If we switch the same Condition we created earlier to Or logic, employees will be added to the Group if they're a part of the Marketing Department or if they work in the Frankfurt office.
E.g., someone might work in the Frankfurt office but not be a part of the Marketing Department or vice versa, and they'll still be added to the Group.
π‘ Simply creating a Dynamic Group won't attach it to any Templates; in order to do that, we urge you to see our article on how to Configure Team Templates.
π Set Security Groups as Dynamic Groups
Teams Manager also allows you to utilize your Microsoft Entra Security Groups as the basis for the Dynamic Group you're creating.
Navigate to Settings > Expert mode > Dynamic groups and click on the downward-facing arrow next to the + Add group button.
Now you can specify the Group name, Group description, and type in the name of your Microsoft Entra Security Group under the corresponding section.
Click Add next to the desired Security Group and click Create to finalize your new Dynamic Group.
Selecting a Security Group instead of specific people will automatically add all of the Security Group Members to the newly created Dynamic Group.
π Final Results
Once you've created your new Dynamic Group, it will:
Show up on the Teams Manager Dynamic groups page.
Be fully Editable/Removable.
Become available under the Dynamic groups section of the Template configuration page
