The highest level of access and customization within Teams Manager is reserved for Teams Manager Admins (not to be confused with Teams Admins). As a TM Admin, you'll be able to control all settings related to Teams Manager, create and manage Templates, and institute Governance Policies.
By default, there's only one TM Admin within the organization, which can be more than enough for small organizations. The default TM Admin is granted to the person who set up Teams Manager on the tenant for the first time. However, if you're in charge of a larger structure, it could be useful to have several TM Admins who can watch each other's backs.
Let's go through the process of adding additional TM Admins and explore some of the privileges that these users will receive.
⚙️ Add New TM Administrators
Navigate to Settings > Administrators within Teams Manager.
Click on + Add an administrator in the top right corner of the page.
Type in the name of the user that you'd like to grant the Teams Manager Admin Role to in the Select an admin field. Note that you can add more than one Admin at once.
Click on Save.
Your newly added Administrator will appear under your name in the Admin List.
If you want to remove an Administrator from the list, simply click the X icon next to their name.
🛡️ Administrator Privileges
As a TM Administrator, you'll be able to:
Create and manage Templates by defining pre-set Channels, Members, Widgets, and Metadata fields for user input during Team Creation.
Define and enforce Naming Conventions to control Team Names, using Prefixes and Suffixes, and apply them through Policy Execution for specific Templates.
Set up Lifecycle Policies to automate the Archiving and Deletion of Inactive Teams, including configuring Notifications and Reactivation options.
Bundle rulesets like Naming Conventions and Lifecycles into Policy Packages and execute these Policies based on Conditions like Template Usage or Metadata fields.
Implement workflows for Team Request approvals by creating Approver Groups responsible for reviewing and approving Requests.
Schedule and conduct Access Reviews to reassess Team Membership, utilizing adaptive cards for efficient user access management.
